Kellyanne Conway was the first woman campaign manager to oversee a winning presidential election campaign and walked into the history books on that November night in 2016 when Donald Trump became president.  She has served as Counselor to President Trump for the past four years. This week she decided it is time to leave the White House.  She is leaving a huge hole in the glass ceiling that women are continually seeking to shatter. Thank you, Kellyanne.

“I want to do right apart from my gender, I want to do right as a campaign manager.” Throughout the 2016 presidential campaign, Conway was a constant presence on the campaign trail, continually making the case for Donald Trump’s presidency. She campaigned like a warrior on behalf of candidate Trump and withstood relentless and often cruelly personal, media attacks. She took on the toughest press assignments and fought relentlessly for the Trump-Pence ticket.  She won. Thank you, Kellyanne.

When she joined President Trump’s administration she began fighting The Crisis Next Door.  President Trump made addressing drug demand and the opioid crisis a top priority of his administration. He dedicated unprecedented funding to address this crisis. President Trump made certain states and communities had the resources they need to prevent drug use, treat addiction locally and stop the flow of drugs into communities. Kellyanne was integral to creating this important Administration effort and was a leader sharing its progress around our country.  Thank you, Kellyanne.

Kellyanne Conway is a mother of four children. As any mother knows, there is a continual search for balance. Balancing the needs of family and career, balancing the needs of one child over another, and addressing the issues of each unique child, weigh on every mother’s shoulders. As a high profile and historic political figure, Kellyanne Conway has weathered constant and often intense media speculation about her family. However, she has stayed focused on the White House and the people it serves.  Thank you, Kellyanne.

In her announcement that she is leaving the White House she said it will be “less drama, more mama.” In her straightforward and confident way, Conway made it ok to be a “mama” and to make a change.   Thank you, Kellyanne.
